Fri, 29 September 2006 ![]() Karen has such a talent for writing just what I need to hear... I have to share it with you all. Very nicely said. C
FILE IT AND GO PLAY! How many times have things happened in your life where you try to figure out why things have gone south? Why a relationship didn’t work? Why someone appears to be angry at you all the time? Why you didn’t get that promotion or raise you think you deserve?
And why is it we always question ourselves about these situations? Why do we think if we had only did something different the result would have changed to our favor? And what about the things we will never know the answer to? How do we go on without rehashing issues that will never be resolved?
Do you have that filing cabinet we have in our mind that stores memories? do you have that place we store memories and thoughts of years gone by? Every once and a while someone says or does something to you and BAM, something emerges in your mind you haven’t thought about in years. Where was that stored?
I have always envisioned an old filing cabinet, grey in color, with several drawers of files and this cabinet resides within my mind. In the far, far, far back of the bottom drawer I have an “I don’t know file. Over the years I have filed away some dandy items. Failed relationships, weird things that happen without explanation, some pain and some hurt resides in there too. This way I find I don’t have to keep holding on to the thoughts as if I am trying to remember what happened in case the answer appears.
Oh yes, there are times the answer appears. Maybe years later at a class reunion when that boy you always wanted to date comes up and says to you “Gee, I always wanted to take you out, or maybe someone hurt you and a few years later when what they did to you happens to them, they get the backbone to call you and say, "I blew it. You see there is no limitation to opening up the cabinet and pulling out the file – ending the cold case with a resolution. But that is not what is important here. What is important is the fact you filed it away in the first place.
When we dwell on things we may never get the answer to, we eat up our energy and our time. When something happens in our lives that send us off into wondering what we could/should/would have done, we need to realize that there is a huge possibility it had nothing to do with us. There is nothing we could have done, said, or suggested that would have changed the outcome. We just DON’T KNOW what happened. We don’t know why someone decides to walk or hurt us. We don’t really know what is going on in their heart or head. And it most likely has nothing to do with us.
Therefore wasting our energy and time trying to figure someone out or what went wrong may be more impossible than building our own space ship to ride to the moon. File it away. Move on. Take that energy you are saving and use it to create passion, dreams, life. Who wants to waste our precious moments on this earth with such trivial thoughts about a person or thing we cannot control and whose mind we cannot read.
It’s a whole lot more fun to go out and play then it is to attempt to resolve something you can’t control. Go play – it will be in your file if you ever need to retrieve it. Don’t worry about forgetting about it, you won’t. Just go play…. Live life to your fullest. And if you are to have the answer, know it will come. If not, then why worry? Go play. Mon, 16 January 2006 I skyped with Shian of Anarchy-X Podcast today and took the opportunity to make the upgrade to Skype 2.0 and see how everything works; it's definately better. But, they didn't make it any easier to record a conversation using Cakewalk Sonar... if any of you know anything about that... please share. :-) Anyway, he turned me onto a very thought provoking documentary called "Loose Change"; Written and Directed by Dylan Avery. It suggests an alternative explaination to the events surrounding September 11th 2001. It's an hour long, and definately worth your time. Comments are, of course, very welcome. If you want to watch it for free using Google Video, click here. Category: general -- posted at: 10:11 PM Comments[2] |

Mon, 15 August 2005 Lots going on at the Carsonator homefront! We gave a party to show off all the hard work mom has done to the house, got the boys registered and in school, and (of course) keeping the boss happy. As a result, I have been neglecting my podcasting duties for the last several days. But, for those clamering for another episode; be careful what you ask for... You shall have one soon enough. (In the tone of Governor Tarkin) In the meantime, I'll give everybody a sneak peak at some of my efforts to spruce up the Carsonator website. Plus, when you shop yourself on music row, you have to show these people what you look like.... Go find the Carsonator at mrphotostudios.com (Yes, you have to look for me) and let me know what you think. As always, post a comment or email me. Wed, 13 July 2005 Hey everybody! Lots of crazy livin' by the Carsonator lately! I had plans to finish episode 5 tonight, but alas, Heather has other plans for me. (Don't worry, it's all good) I think Tom Petty is playing at the Starwood tonight... things could get very wet! Category: general -- posted at: 5:11 PM Comments[17] |
Sat, 2 July 2005 Playing the WH for the past year has been a learning experience for each of us individually, and as a group. I will miss it... sortof :) No tears, please! Just look forward into the future in anticipation of what is to come. For those that have not heard the news, Fitz will be leaving Shiloh after tonight's performance. I'll be talking to Fitz back stage and grabbing sound bites for the next episode. Stay subscribed everybody! And, Fitz; we love you! Category: general -- posted at: 1:10 PM Comments[29] |
Wed, 29 June 2005 My apologies to all that attended the WH last night. I was not feeling very well to begin with... but then this little voice told me that a little JD would help me feel better. Let me just say that next time I'll drink a cup of tea... Category: general -- posted at: 9:15 AM Comments[8] |
Mon, 27 June 2005 Thank you to everyone that tuned in, and especially to those of you that sent me some feedback. I love to get it and will always want more.
Tommorrow will be the first night at the WH so I must get my beauty sleep... lord knows that I'll need it come Saturday night! This week will no doubt cut into getting my podcast on... but have no fear! I promise to get the next one up by the end of the week.
I'll see you at the show! Category: general -- posted at: 11:40 PM Comments[3] |
